PRT Metal manufactures spur gears, helical gears, bevel gears (straight and spiral), worm gears and worm wheels, internal ring gears, and gear racks. Both external and internal tooth profiles are available. All gear types can be produced to standard DIN or AGMA profiles, or to fully custom non-standard geometries based on your drawing or sample.

Our current manufacturing capability covers gear outer diameters up to 2,500mm for hobbed and shaped gears, and modules from M1 to M50. For large-diameter ring gears and slewing gear segments beyond standard ranges, please submit your drawing for a dedicated capacity review and feasibility confirmation from our engineering team.

Standard material options include 45# carbon steel, 40Cr alloy steel, 42CrMo chromium-molybdenum steel, 20CrMnTi case-hardening steel, and nodular cast iron (QT600/QT700) for large gear blanks. Bronze (CuSn12) is available for worm wheels. Stainless steel grades 304 and 316 are available for corrosion-sensitive applications. Material selection guidance is provided based on your load and environmental requirements.

Available heat treatment processes include induction hardening (surface hardness HRC 45–62), carburizing and case hardening (case depth 0.5–2.5mm), nitriding (HV 550–1100), and through-hardening (HRC 28–35). Hardness is verified by Rockwell or Vickers hardness testing on production samples, with test results documented in the heat treatment record supplied with each order.

Standard lead time for custom-manufactured gears is 15–30 working days depending on gear type, diameter, quantity, and heat treatment requirements. Prototype and emergency MRO replacement orders are scheduled on an expedited basis — contact our team with your drawing and required delivery date for a confirmed production timeline before order placement.
